This course introduces parents and caregivers to the foundational principles of Polyvagal Theory as a framework for understanding challenging behaviors in children especially those with trauma histories. Participants will explore how defiance, resistance, and conflict are often rooted in the body's automatic nervous system responses, rather than conscious disobedience. Through real-world examples and practical insights, this session offers tools to recognize nervous system states, regulate your own responses, and use co-regulation strategies to build connection and safety. By the end of the session, you’ll be equipped with a deeper understanding of how to interpret behavior through a trauma-informed lens and respond in ways that support both your child’s healing and your own regulation.
