A Trauma-Informed Guide to Structure & Trust

Healthy Boundaries for Teens:
A Trauma-Informed Guide to Structure & Trust

Parenting teenagers is challenging for every family, but for adoptive, foster, and kinship families, adolescence can bring an entirely new level of complexity. In this course, April Ficklin breaks down how to create developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed boundaries that help teens feel safe, empowered, and connected. Participants learn how to balance nurture and structure, build trust through collaboration, and use boundaries as a tool for growth rather than punishment. Through real-life examples, brain-based strategies, and practical scripts, families walk away with a boundary-building framework they can use immediately. Perfect for parents raising teens who are navigating independence, emotional intensity, and big developmental transitions.
